TC3-UTCSP Joint Professional Development & Training Award
TC3 and UTCSP have partnered to offer the UTCSP TC3 Professional Development & Training award. This is a competitive award to offer professional development opportunities for trainees engaged in research on cannabis and/or cannabinoids, the endocannabinoid system, and/or pain and/or its related comorbidities. Professional development & training opportunities may include, but are not limited, to:
- conference attendance
- external professional development courses or training,
- travel allowances to support collaboration/training at institutions outside of Toronto
- other professional development activities as appropriate.
Funds are provided to contribute to the costs of event registration, travel, accommodation, and meals in accordance with the University of Toronto regulations.

UTCSP Pain Scientist Award
The UTCSP Pain Scientist Scholarship is merit-based and will be awarded to applicants that exhibit high academic achievement, originality, excellent research ability or potential, excellent oral and written communication skills, and leadership abilities. The objective of this scholarship is to strengthen pain research and talent development through the provision of financial support for research training.
UTCSP Pain Scientist Award 2024-2025
The UTCSP is committed to supporting the development of exceptional research trainees who will take future leadership roles in the field of pain science. The objective of this scholarship is to strengthen pain research and talent development through the provision of financial support for research training.
Application Deadline:
Applications, in full, are due Friday, May 17, 2024 without exception. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be reviewed. If you require an extension, please request one no later than 48 hours before the deadline by emailing utcsp@utoronto.ca. Extensions will only be considered in rare circumstances, and the length of the extension is at the discretion of UTCSP.
Value, Scope and Duration:
Scholarships will be awarded up to a maximum value of $12,500 per scholarship for a period of 1 year across graduate-level (i.e., Master’s or PhD student) and post-doctoral trainees. Graduate students may hold a maximum of two (2) UTCSP-adjudicated scholarships.
The scholarship will start in September 2024

The Canadian Pain Society Lottery
The Canadian Pain Society‘s Annual Scientific Meeting is in Ottawa from Saturday April 27 – Tuesday April 30, 2024. This UTCSP Canadian Pain Society Professional Development Award will cover the cost of trainee membership and registration.
