The UTCSP is investing in the development of prelicensure and continuing professional development to support clinical education in pain management.
Prelicensure Education
The UTCSP is investing in the development of new content to support clinical education. This includes new case development and asynchronous learning modules that could be delivered through the IPC curriculum and hosted on our website to advance dissemination and leadership in pain educations. Timely topics include “Addressing health inequity in pain care” and “Communication of pain, communication with pain patients.” Current content creation partners include U of T faculty and interprofessional clinicians at the Toronto Academic Pain Medicine Institute.
Interfaculty Pain Curriculum
Each March, approximately 1,000 students from health disciplines across the University of Toronto including medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and physician assistants take part in an educational series – though large-group and small-group learning sessions – related to current research and understanding of pain, and clinical practice in pain management.
