Shelley O'Brien PhD
Dr. Shelley O’Brien is the Education Officer at the University of Toronto Centre for the Study of Pain, where they design and operationalize interprofessional health education. They lead the execution of the Centre’s annual Interfaculty Pain Curriculum, a flagship initiative focused on translating evidence-based pain management guidelines into clinical practice for pre-licensure students in the health and social care professions. Dr. O’Brien’s research draws on feminist posthumanism and new materialism to rethink assessment and pedagogy. Through their work, they shape learning environments that remain accountable to the material and relational urgencies of care.
