Sara Guilcher

Dr. Sara Guilcher (PT, PhD) is an Associate Professor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and has cross-appointments to the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute, Department of Physical Therapy, and the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Guilcher is as a physical therapist by clinical background, with training in psychology, biology, neuroscience, clinical epidemiology, and health services and policy research. Dr. Guilcher and team uses mixed-methods to optimize transitions in care, medication management and self-management for populations with multimorbidity and disability, including those with acute, episodic and chronic pain. Collectively, this research program aims to develop, implement, and evaluate solution-focused tools and interventions. More recently, Dr. Guilcher and team have investigated polypharmacy, opioid use and medication self-management for persons with spinal cord injury and the team is currently developing a toolkit to improve overall medication self-management.
